Accessibility

The Commissioner’s Office is committed to identifying, removing and preventing barriers to accessibility at the workplace, and in all aspects of its communications and activities.

That commitment is reflected in the work it is doing to implement the Accessible Canada Act and its regulations. The aim of the Act is to make Canada barrier-free by January 1, 2040.

The Commissioner’s Office published its first accessibility plan in December 2022. Each year, it publishes a progress report.

An internal working group is coordinating these accessibility efforts. It works closely with the Commissioner and the Senior Management Committee, consults persons with disabilities, and monitors how the goals in the accessibility plan are being implemented.
