The Commissioner’s Office sometimes hires candidates for term, student and indeterminate positions, and Interchange Canada assignments.
When available, employment opportunities are posted on this page, and externally on Government of Canada Jobs and Employment at Parliament. Staffing processes and appointments are based on merit, and are free from political influence.
The Commissioner’s Office employs about 50 people in a range of specialties. These include compliance, investigations, legal services, communications, parliamentary relations, and corporate management.
It is a separate agency as defined by the Public Service Employment Act. This means it is not generally subject to the rules that apply to the public service, or to Treasury Board policies and guidelines. It has its own terms and conditions of employment, and its own Code of Values and Standards of Conduct.
