Public Declaration of Recusal
As required under the Conflict of Interest Act
Statutory requirement(s):
25. (1) If a reporting public office holder has recused himself or herself to avoid a conflict of interest, the reporting public officeholder shall, within 60 days after the day on which the recusal took place, make a public declaration of the recusal that provides sufficient detail to identify the conflict of interest that was avoided.
51. (1) The Commissioner shall maintain a registry consisting of the following documents for examination by the public:

On February 7, 2023, in the exercise of my official duties, I recused myself from the discussions and decision concerning the reappointment process of Anne Tennier as President of the Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety in order to avoid any appearance of preferential treatment or any opportunity to further the private interest of my friend.
