Public Declaration of Gifts or Other Advantages

As required under the Conflict of Interest Act
Statutory requirement(s):
25. (5) If a reporting public office holder or a member of his or her family accepts any single gift or other advantage that has a value of $200 or more, other than one from a relative or friend, the reporting public office holder shall, within 30 days after accepting the gift or other advantage, make a public declaration that provides sufficient detail to identify the gift or other advantage accepted, the donor and the circumstances under which it was accepted.
51. (1) The Commissioner shall maintain a registry consisting of the following documents for examination by the public:

Nature
One non-partisan paid intern from the Canadian Political Science Association began working in the office March 21, 2022 and will conclude on June 16, 2022. The interns also have numerous other obligations outside of their work-study placement in MP offices, including their research and seminars.

The ten interns interviewed and chose the MPs they will work with. The interns are university graduates and have received training from the House of Commons prior to starting work in the offices.
