If you are not a minister or parliamentary secretary, the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons does not prohibit you from engaging in outside activities (activities that are not part of your official duties) as long as you are able to fulfil your obligations under it.
Section 7 of the Code specifically mentions these outside activities:
- Having another job or practising a profession
- Carrying on a business
- Being a director or officer in a corporation, association, trade union or non-profit organization
- Being a partner in a partnership.
