The Commissioner reports directly to Parliament through:
- Two annual reports. One is on the administration of the Conflict of Interest Act. The other is on the administration of the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons.
- A List of Sponsored Travel taken by Members of the House of Commons each year.
- Investigation reports under the Act. The Commissioner sends these to the Prime Minister. They are also tabled in the Senate and the House of Commons.
- Investigation reports under the Code. These are tabled in the House of Commons.
The Commissioner testifies about the Office and its work before parliamentary committees that include:
- The House of Commons Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics. It has oversight responsibility for the Commissioner’s Office. It reviews the Office’s annual spending estimates, and matters related to the Commissioner’s reports under the Act.
- The House of Commons Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs. It has responsibility for the Code.
